Black Squirrels Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Sting
|
The Black Squirrels grabbed a win, 4-3, at Woodland Park, overcoming a fine effort from Houston pitcher Bobby Mannix. Mannix went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 47-42 with this latest triumph.
Jorge Juarez aided the Tree City cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth. For the game, the pinch hitter drew 1 walk.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Tree City manager Ramón Guerrero. "It's usually not just one thing."
