McDade goes 3-for-3 as Panthers Squeeze Past Coney Island
|
The Charleston Panthers stopped the Coney Island Cyclones, 5-4, at Franklin Mountains Field. The Panthers got a big game from Matt McDade, who was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. David Gilmour got the save, his 5th in 6 chances. Charleston now owns a record of 40-47.
McDade had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 curveball from Joe Schrock, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Panthers a 5-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for McDade.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said McDade. "And not try to do too much."
