Bums Fall Short, 3-2, at Stroudsburg
|
Stroudsburg Shade starter Alberto García was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Palm Beach Bums, 3-2. Jose Vasquez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 20 save opportunities. The Shade go to 35-50, putting them 5th in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division.
Had Pete Lassahn not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Lassahn hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Shade.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Palm Beach manager Juan Carlos Serrano. "But we decided not to take it."
