Charleston designated hitter Ryosaku Nishimura had a good game, even if his team did not. The Panthers dropped a 10-9 decision to Chippewa at The Reservation. Nishimura went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The win was Brad Ide's in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Bill Poulin took the loss for Charleston. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 46-37 with this latest triumph.

Chippewa's win came gift-wrapped. With one out in the bottom of the tenth, with the game tied, Tatsuhito Suzuki reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Suzuki.
