|
Pitcher Bobby Savoy was sensational for the Brisbane Bush Wackers in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Stroudsburg Shade. Savoy received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Savoy, now 9-1, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing no earned runs. Aaron Lyons converted his 16th save in 22 tries.
The Bush Wackers got a big at-bat from first baseman Insung Yaung. For the game, Yaung went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Brisbane a 2-0 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Brisbane skipper Pete Barrett.
The Shade, at 34-49, have lost 4 straight games.
