The Sting had to overcome a good performance from Bel Air pitcher Manuel Pena to claim a 3-2 win at Philip Banks Field. Pena went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The win was Jim Currie's in relief. His record improves to 4-5. Toru Saito took the loss for Bel Air. The 'W' lifts Houston's record to 39-44.
Joe Sheridan made it 3-2, Houston, in the top of the 12th when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Sting win.
Sheridan attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
