Emeralds Win at Tree City, 6-3

The Eugene Emeralds topped the Tree City Black Squirrels, 6-3, in Donnie Moore League action at The Nut House. The player of the game was Eugene pitcher and Libertad, Costa Rica native Cristo Cruz. Cody Mason was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 9 save opportunities. The Emeralds bumped their record to 43-39 with this latest triumph.
The Emeralds got a big at-bat from left fielder Tal-hun Kug. For the game, Kug went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Eugene a 2-0 lead.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Kug said after the game.
