The Palm Beach Bums and St. Petersburg Pelicans provided some drama at Envoys Ballpark.

Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Matt Roth, the St. Petersburg Pelicans defeated the Palm Beach Bums, 5-4. Roth hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Pelicans. Palm Beach's current losing streak has reached 4 games.

Had Ismael Correa not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Correa hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Pelicans.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Pelicans manager Kurt Brumfield. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
