Big Day by Carney Ignites Knights Win

It was a good time at Stable Park, where fans came to watch the Coney Island Cyclones and Kingwood Knights get after it.
The Kingwood Knights beat the Coney Island Cyclones, 6-3, at Stable Park. Kingwood right fielder Mike Carney earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Shiki Murata was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 7 save opportunities.
Carney had a key at-bat for Kingwood early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Kingwood an early 3-0 lead.
"Nervous? No," said Carney. "It was my time to shine."
Kingwood now owns a record of 35-46.
