Warriors Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bush Wackers
The Brisbane Bush Wackers got a superb performance from designated hitter Jake Polander, but the Winfield Warriors still won the game, 7-6. Polander was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Winfield reliever Sandy Ponce picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Yeong-sam Yi was collared with the loss. Dave Milar notched his 8th save in 10 chances.

Had Yashpal Rob not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rob hit a 2-run double. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Warriors.

"We found a way to get it done," Rob said.

At 32-46, the Warriors are currently 5th in the Lyman Bostock League Earl Weaver Division.
