The Bethesda Hornets got a superb performance from right fielder Miguel Hernández, but the Charleston Panthers still won the game, 6-5. Hernández was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Charleston reliever Naozane Kato picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-5. Ricky Alvarado was collared with the loss. David Gilmour notched his 3rd save in 3 chances.
Had Paul Seibold not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Seibold hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Panthers.
"We found a way to get it done," Seibold said.
At 38-41, the Panthers are currently 4th in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
