Sting Win at Coney Island, 5-2

Houston and Coney Island duked it out at Coney Island Coliseum and the Sting came out victorious.
The Coney Island Cyclones got a superb performance from pitcher Ricardo Hernández, but the Houston Sting still won the game, 5-2. Hernández was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings allowing 1 run. Houston reliever Richard Sinclair picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Yuigo Fujimoto shouldered the loss.
Had John Bloom not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Bloom hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Sting.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Bloom said after the game.
Houston is now 37-42.
