Cyclones Win at Brisbane, 8-3
|
Coney Island starter Steve Rogers Jr. pitched effectively against the Brisbane Bush Wackers at Baylor Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 8-3 win. The win puts the Cyclones at 34-43, while the Bush Wackers drop to 52-27.
The Cyclones used some clutch hitting to beat the Bush Wackers, a good example being the at-bat of Larry Zimmerman in the top of the third. With two down, Zimmerman gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a 2-run single.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Rogers Jr. told the Coney Island Bulletin.
