Saints Lose, 9-5, at Envoys Ballpark

Behind a solid performance from first baseman Yoshimochi Takahashi, the Palm Beach Bums defeated the St. Paul Saints, 9-5. Takahashi was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Bums. Francisco Encarnación got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings. The Bums are now 32-43, while the Saints fall to 42-35.
Takahashi had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Bums went on to win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Takahashi told a Palm Beach Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
