Bloodhounds Need Extra Frames to Get Past Hornets
The Boise Bloodhounds beat the Bethesda Hornets, 5-4, at Hornets Field. The Bloodhounds got a fine performance from designated hitter Ed Villegas, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI. Jason Loer got credit for the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Today's win puts Boise at 34-45, while Bethesda falls to 50-28.

The Bloodhounds got a big at-bat from third baseman Manny Huizar. For the game, Huizar went 2-5 with 2 singles and 2 walks. In the top of the 12th, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 56th hit of the season gave Boise a 5-4 lead.
