The Tree City Black Squirrels defeated the San Angelo Mustangs, 4-2, in Donnie Moore League action at The Nut House, with Tree City pitcher Francis Luck named player of the game. Luck got the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Luck allowed 1 earned run. Cory Kieck converted his 19th save in 23 tries.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Mike Mager didn't flinch. With a runner on 2nd and San Angelo trailing 3-2, Mager retired Boyd Adler to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Mager, with a wink.
Tree City now has a 3-game win streak.
