Pelicans Shut Out Lake Monsters
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Billy Mathews Field enjoyed a good ballgame.
The St. Petersburg Pelicans defeated the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 3-0, in Donnie Moore League action at Billy Mathews Field, with St. Petersburg pitcher Ryokan Endo named player of the game. Endo got the win, improving to 4-6. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. Endo allowed no earned runs.
Okanagan had a runner on 1st in the top of the eighth. With no one out, Scott Kavanagh came to bat, hoping to do some damage. Instead, he hit into a double play. The score remained 2-0, St. Petersburg. The Lake Monsters saw their comeback bid fail.
The Pelicans raised their record to 29-43.
