The River Chiefs faced a stiff challenge from Boise pitcher Francisco Martínez, but persevered to claim a win at Grand Canyon Valley Park. The final score was 3-2. Martínez went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Chippewa reliever Brad Ide picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Jason Loer shouldered the loss. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 40-35 with this latest triumph.
The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from third baseman Chris Reddy. For the game, Reddy went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 19th double of the season gave Chippewa a 3-2 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Reddy said after the game.
