Black Squirrels Get Past Stroudsburg for 3-2 Win
|
The Tree City Black Squirrels racked up a win at The Nut House, bumping off the Stroudsburg Shade, 3-2. Jun Zhou, who started for Tree City, pitched effectively for his team. Cory Kieck, credited with the win, is now 4-4. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 39-34 with this latest triumph.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Tree City center fielder Louis Haydock, facing Naoyuki Kikuchi, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Black Squirrels the 3-2 win.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Tree City manager Ramón Guerrero.
