Vihaan Vedant made an impact in the 7-4 Portland win over So Cal. Vedant, who is tied for 4th in the RCL in hits with 69, was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Yoshiaki Kojima got the win, improving to 5-3. He pitched 8.1 innings, giving up 9 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Olivier Martin converted his 10th save in 11 tries.
Portland grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Vedant, who is tied for 4th in the RCL in stolen bases with 22, hit a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Beavers out in front, 3-1.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Vedant told the Portland Gazette.
The 4th-place Beavers raised their record to 25-32.
