St. Petersburg right-hander Kevin Bongarzone pitched his team to victory over the Tree City Black Squirrels at The Nut House. The final score was 6-3. Jaiden Harris notched his 14th save in 16 chances. St. Petersburg now sits at 27-41, while Tree City falls to 38-33.

Bongarzone, a native of Anda, China, was dealing all game. He kept Tree City hitters off-balance, while giving the Pelicans 7.2 quality innings. Bongarzone threw 92 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 6.

"Kevin was throwing strikes, locating well," said St. Petersburg manager Kurt Brumfield.
