The Chippewa River Chiefs defeated the Winfield Warriors, 5-3, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Reservation, with Chippewa pitcher Lorenzo Chavez named player of the game. The winner was Chippewa reliever Pang Yip, now 1-1. The loser was Danny Reliford. Brad Ide was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 11 save opportunities.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Juan Quevedo hit a double. The River Chiefs went on to win.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Chavez said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
