Bloodhounds Fall Short, 3-2, at Charleston
|
The rain could not keep the Franklin Mountains Field crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.
Boise got a terrific performance from pitcher Mario Michaca, but it wasn't enough to beat the Charleston Panthers. Charleston won the Franklin Mountains Field contest, 3-2. Michaca was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Enrico Avalos was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
Scott Tuff aided the Charleston cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the third. For the game, the third baseman went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Boise manager Nick Brown.
Charleston is now 32-36, Boise 30-42.
