River Chiefs Come Up Short at Okanagan
|
In a well-pitched game between the Okanagan Lake Monsters and the Chippewa River Chiefs, pitcher Eric Sanford was superb. The Okanagan right-hander was named the player of the game in Okanagan's 2-1 win. Ramón Martínez, credited with the save, is now 13 for 13 in save opportunities. Okanagan leads the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division by 9˝ games.
Roberto Rodríguez, who is tied for 2nd in the BOL in triples with 5, aided the Okanagan cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder was 1-4.
Sanford called the triumph "a good team win."
