Ferdig Helps Westside Cruise to 13-3 Win
|
The Westside Road Warriors got production from their entire lineup in an easy 13-3 win over the Tree City Black Squirrels. Player of the game honors went to left fielder Jarred Ferdig. Ferdig, who is tied for 5th in the AHL in extra base hits with 22, went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 doubles. He drove in 6 runs. António Aguilar, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 3 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 4-2. The third-place Black Squirrels have dropped 5 straight games.
Ferdig had a key at-bat for Westside early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and gave Westside an early 3-0 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Ferdig said.
