Bloodhounds Sneak Past Mustangs, 1-0
|
The San Angelo Mustangs got a superb performance from pitcher Omar Mendez, but the Boise Bloodhounds still won the game, 1-0. Mendez was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The winner was Boise reliever Jason Loer, now 5-3. The loser was Omar Mendez. Boise is now 27-37, San Angelo 37-26.
Mario Ozuna was the walk-off hero for Boise. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bloodhounds right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Ozuna said.
