Victory Over Black Squirrels Takes Bethesda to 42-20
|
The Bethesda Hornets got a strong performance from pitcher Jose Rodriguez, who stymied the Tree City offense en route to a 6-2 win at Hornets Field. Rodriguez, now 6-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Gabriel Martínez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 4 save opportunities.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from catcher Eduardo Rosário. For the game, Rosário was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Bethesda a 2-0 lead.
"We played hard and won," said Rodriguez. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
Bethesda is now 42-20, 6˝ games up in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division.
