Saints Pull Even With 2-1 Victory
|
St. Paul beat Chippewa at The Reservation, eking out a 2-1 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Teagan Cooper, who earned player of the game honors. Cooper, now 3-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. The Saints bumped their record to 28-28 with this latest triumph.
Alex Rodriguez aided the St. Paul cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the second. For the game, the catcher went 1-3.
"I was a little disappointed," said Chippewa manager Eric Rice. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
