Victory Pushes Sting Record to 29-26
|
The Houston Sting downed the Tree City Black Squirrels, 4-1, at Woodland Park. The Sting were led by Joe Sheridan, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. The Sting bumped their record to 29-26 with this latest triumph.
The Sting got a big at-bat from first baseman Troy Tisdale. For the game, Tisdale was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Houston a 2-1 lead.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Houston manager Héctor Flores. "It's usually not just one thing."
