The exploits of second baseman Jean-Claude Petit, who is a five-time All-Star, helped the South Carolina Bombers defeat the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 4-0. Petit went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. South Carolina reliever Arslan Halit picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Phoenix Smith was saddled with the loss. The Bombers bumped their record to 29-24 with this latest triumph.

Petit had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the seventh inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Bombers went on to win.

In postgame comments to the South Carolina Times, Petit said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
