Dancin' Outlaws Win at Barrow, 4-2
|
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws relied on the hitting of third baseman Mitsunori Nauert to stop the Barrow Frosties, 4-2. For the game, Nauert was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Yasukatsu Yonemura, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 4-1. Picking up the save was Kenny Moran, his 19th.
West Virginia grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Nauert, who leads the AHL in home runs with 11, hit a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season put the Dancin' Outlaws out in front, 2-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said West Virginia skipper Enrique Ramírez.
The Dancin' Outlaws bumped their record to 27-25 with this latest triumph.
