Hornets Score Late to Upend Grays, 6-1
|
The Eureka Hornets topped the Georgia Grays by the score of 6-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Juan González. González went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Hornets on the day. Eureka reliever Bryan Fulcher picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ánibal Altichioro took the loss. The Hornets bumped their record to 31-23 with this latest triumph.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when third baseman José Zavala, who leads the TML in triples with 5, hit a double. The Hornets went on to win.
"This is a very good team," said Zavala. "We have the chance to do something special."
