Vikings Bang Out 7-2 Win Versus Bel Air
|
The 2033 season is getting ugly for Bel Air.
The Victoria Vikings defeated the Bel Air Princes, 7-2, in Lyman Bostock League action at Philip Banks Field, with Victoria pitcher Joey McCalvin named player of the game. McCalvin, now 8-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Earning his 18th save of the year was Pete Murphy.
Scott Corkum drew 2 walks in 5 trips to the plate, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Victoria. The 22-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Miguel Serbin. It was his 23rd walk of the season.
"This is a very good team," said McCalvin. "We have the chance to do something special."
Victoria has an impressive 35-18 record.
