Islanders Prevail, 8-6, Over Columbus
|
It was a good time at Aloha Stadium, where fans came to watch the Columbus Aces and Hawaii Islanders get after it.
Hawaii left fielder Jesús Solís made his presence felt in the 8-6 Islanders triumph over the Columbus Aces. Solís went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. David Guzman earned the win for Hawaii. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 4-4.
The Islanders got a big at-bat from first baseman Bagaskoro Pakpahan. For the game, Pakpahan was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Hawaii a 6-4 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Pakpahan.
Hawaii is second in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division with a record of 31-21.
