The Nichols Gnats picked up a win at The Pond, knocking off the Houston Sting, 3-0. On the mound for Nichols was left-hander Ruben Abreu, who played a pivotal role in the win. Luis Pina, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The win boosts the Gnats to 22-27. The loss puts the Sting at 24-23.

The Gnats got a big at-bat from designated hitter Eric Behan. For the game, Behan went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Nichols a 2-0 lead.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Behan told the Nichols Citizen.
