Bombers Jolt Toreros with Late Rally

Cabo San Lucas got a terrific performance from catcher Moo-hyun Boone, but it wasn't enough to beat the South Carolina Bombers. South Carolina won the Field de Los Layendas contest, 4-3. Boone was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. South Carolina reliever Daryl Wyles picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Amirtharaj Nagaraja shouldered the loss. At 4-2, the Bombers have played well so far.
The Bombers got a big at-bat from shortstop Apupa Vuppula. For the game, Vuppula went 1 for 1. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 2nd hit of the season gave South Carolina a 4-3 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Vuppula.
