Black Squirrels Win at New Orleans, 5-2
|
Tree City rode a decent outing from starter Josh Butler to victory over the New Orleans Jedi Knights at The Republic. The final score was 5-2. Mike Mager earned his 1st save in 2 tries. The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 26-20 with this latest triumph.
Travis Hickey hit a run-scoring triple off Fred Antoine in the top of the second, which put the Black Squirrels in front, 1-0. Hickey had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 2.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Butler. "Successful pitchers do it."
