The Victoria Vikings got a stellar performance from pitcher Joey McCalvin, who handcuffed the Winfield offense en route to a 9-2 win at The Barn. Jorge Ortega earned the save for Victoria, his 1st. The last-place Warriors have lost 5 straight games.

Mel Dominguez, who is tied for 10th in the BOL in runs scored with 27, aided the Victoria cause with a 2-run triple in the top of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop was 2 for 5 with a triple and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Eric Stone.
