|
The Chippewa River Chiefs defeated the Kingwood Knights, 4-3, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Reservation, with Chippewa pitcher José López named player of the game. In 7.1 innings, López surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 25-19 with this latest triumph.
Tatsuhito Suzuki, who is rated as the 89th best prospect by BNN, helped out the Chippewa cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3.
