Cyclones Throttle Lake Monsters, 7-1
|
The Coney Island Cyclones got a stellar performance from pitcher Jackson Knickle, who handcuffed the Okanagan offense en route to a 7-1 win at Coney Island Coliseum. Knickle got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Knickle allowed no earned runs. Steve Nigro earned the save, his 1st, for the Cyclones.
Clifton Leclair put Coney Island in front, 3-0, when he took Eric Sanford downtown. His 2-run home run came with no one out in the bottom of the sixth. It was his 3rd home run of the season.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Knickle told the Coney Island Bulletin.
Coney Island, at 18-25, sits in last place in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
