Hornets Come Up Short at Houston
|
With left fielder Joe Sheridan leading the charge, the Houston Sting defeated the Bethesda Hornets, 5-4, at Woodland Park. Sheridan, who leads the AHL in doubles with 11, was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bob Jarvis got credit for the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 1 innings. Houston has now won 4 straight.
Josh Wheeler's at-bat in the bottom of the third inning was a big one for Houston. Coming to bat with one out, the bases loaded and Houston leading 3-2, the first baseman hit a 2-run single.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Wheeler told the Houston Bulletin.
