|
Tree City pitcher Bruce Cunningham did his part in helping his team beat the Eugene Emeralds, 7-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Cunningham, now 2-3, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Jorge Domínguez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
The Black Squirrels picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Cunningham. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 21-18 with this latest triumph.
