Black Squirrels Prevail, 5-3, Over Eugene
|
Tree City and Eugene duked it out at The Nut House and the Black Squirrels came out victorious.
The Eugene Emeralds got a superb performance from pitcher Francisco Bibian. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Tree City. The Black Squirrels won the game, 5-3. In spite of the loss, Bibian was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings allowing 5 runs. The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 20-17 with this latest triumph.
Jorge Juarez's at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning was a big one for Tree City. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Tree City trailing 3-2, the designated hitter reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 1 run.
Juarez called the win "a collective effort."
