López Now 5-2 After Subduing Cyclones

Chippewa rode a good effort from starter José López to beat the Coney Island Cyclones at The Reservation. The final score was 4-2. Stu Gale got credit for the save for Chippewa. It was his 11th of the year. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 20-13 with this latest triumph.
López tossed 79 pitches over 7 innings to clinch the win for the River Chiefs. The right-hander allowed just 1 hit, while racking up 9 strikeouts in the game.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Chippewa manager Eric Rice. "Our pregame was pretty good."
