San Angelo left fielder Orlando Talamantez had a good game, even if his team did not. The Mustangs dropped a 5-4 decision to Winfield at The Barn. Talamantez belted 2 home runs. Winfield reliever Shigeru Konishi got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Dan Garcia was tagged with the loss. Despite the win, Winfield, now 9-23, is off to a terrible start.

Winfield won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Dan Garcia on the mound for San Angelo, second baseman Steve Houston hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Warriors fans to their feet.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Houston.
