Cyclones Beat Panthers in 10
|
The Coney Island Cyclones topped the Charleston Panthers, 7-6, with first baseman Brenden Cheatham playing a big role. Cheatham was 4 for 6 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Cyclones in the win. The Panthers fall to 13-20 and continue their lackluster start in 2033.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from designated hitter Dusty Scott. For the game, Scott went 2 for 5 with 2 singles and a walk. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 26th hit of the season gave Coney Island a 7-6 lead.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Cheatham said in his postgame press conference.
