Late Rally by Prowlers Seals 4th Straight Win
|
The Oklahoma City Prowlers got a rain-soaked win over the Kansas City Tornadoes at Debris Field.
Oklahoma City overcame a superlative game from David Myers to beat Kansas City, 5-1. The Kansas City pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. The winner was John Denny, who threw 114 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 5 hits.
The Prowlers got a big at-bat from second baseman Eric Clements. For the game, Clements went 1-3 with a hit by pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 28th hit of the season gave Oklahoma City a 3-1 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Clements said after the game.
The third-place Prowlers have won 4 in a row.
