The San Angelo Mustangs went down to defeat to Katsutaro Nishikawa and his New Orleans teammates. The final score was 6-2 in favor of the Jedi Knights. José Martínez earned save number 5. New Orleans, now 18-12, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Edwin Ruiz, who is tied for 10th in the BOL with a .337 batting average, aided the New Orleans cause with a 2-run double in the top of the seventh. For the game, the right fielder went 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Nishikawa.
