The Tree City Black Squirrels defeated the Houston Sting, 6-3. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Cole Capone, who was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Reliever Jorge Dom璯guez picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Ed Gratton took the loss. With the win, Tree City pushes its record to 16-15.
Capone had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Ed Gratton, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Black Squirrels a 6-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Capone.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Capone.
