Republic Turn Back Portland, 4-2

The So Cal Republic picked up a win at House of the Republic, knocking off the Portland Beavers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jin-woo Pi, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Pin-zhen Au earned the save for So Cal, his 2nd. Losses have been few and far between for the Beavers so far this season. Their record drops to 4-2.
Donald Latulippe went 1-4 for So Cal. The four-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Félix Reina. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
Pi called the triumph "a good team win."
